Motorcycle diagnostics in Sant Pere de Ribes
We plug your bike into the diagnostic tool to read the errors stored in the ECU and pinpoint the cause of the problem before replacing any part. What it includes
- Reading the error codes stored in the ECU.
- Checking sensors and live values with the engine running.
- Clearing the errors once the cause has been found and fixed.
- A clear explanation of what was found, and a quote for the repair if there is one.
When it's due
- The engine or ABS warning light comes on and stays on.
- The bike jerks, stalls or loses power for no clear reason.
- A fault that comes and goes and that nobody has managed to reproduce.
What you ask us
Does the diagnosis fix the fault?
No: it finds it. Diagnostics tell you which system is failing and why; the repair is a separate job with its own quote, which you approve first.
Does it work on older bikes without an ECU?
On carburettor bikes with no electronics, electronic diagnostics don't apply: in that case the job is a mechanical check of the symptom. Tell us what's happening when you book and we'll approach it the right way.
How long do diagnostics take?
Reading and checking take around forty minutes. If the fault is intermittent we may need to ride the bike or repeat the test from cold.
